Application Methods |
|
|
SPECFLOC® Flocculant series products achieve excellent results with use of small amounts.
The powder SPECFLOC® series contains high amount of active ingredients, yet it excels on storage stability.
The great variation in ionic character, from catinoic through nonionic to anionic, enables treatment
of all different types of solids and mineral suspensions. On the other hand, the aqueous SPECFLOC® series
has a relatively low molecular weight, and is available as an alternative to aluminium sulfate and
polyaluminium chloride.

Prepare solutions polymer |
SPECFLOC® polymer products are dissolved in water to prepare polymer
stock solutions and then added to suspensions (water, waste water or sluge).
Precautions: High quality make up water should be used, although any water including clean, salt and treated water can be used. It is best if use netral water that not contain salt or foreign matter.
Stock solution can be prepared from 0.01 wt %- 0.5 wt % concentration. Solution should be aged 30-90 minutes for maximum effectiveness.

Centrifugal pumps should be avoided for polymer trasfer. Use plunger or diapharagm pumps that exert very little shearing force.
Detailed instructions for dissolving and feeding each of the SPECLOC polymer products discussed herein are given in
individual product bulletins which are available upon request or via our website.
A few general principles, however, apply to all organic polymers. They have very large molecules
and are effective only when they are thoroughly mixed and dispersed with the water to be treated so
that all colloidal particles can be contacted evenly. Absorption of too little or too much polymers on
some particles results in incomplete coagulation or flocculation. Adsorption of too much polymer on some
particles can result in the destabilization of these particles on the positive or negative side depending
upon the type of polymer used. This is the most frequent cause of the haze that is left in some settled
waters. The haze can best be eliminated and more uniform coagulation obtained by using more dilution water
with polymer solution prior to application and by using multiple addition points to provide more rapid
distribution of the large polymer molecules throughout the water that is being treated.
